The Perfect Setting Spray Combo // The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist &NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray

Lately, everyone's talking about setting spray. When I first heard about it, I was like "What in the world is this? Like deodorant for your face? Or parfume? Or what?". Confusing. But setting spray became one of my most important items now and I can't imagine a life without it.

Today, I want to show you my favorite two setting sprays and together, they are perfect.

On the left, we have The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist and on the right you see the NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray.
Zurzeit redet alle Welt über Setting Sprays. Als ich zum ersten mal davon gehört habe, dachte ich "Was bitte soll das sein? Deo für dein Gesicht? Oder Parfüm? Oder was?". Die Beauty-Welt kann schon verwirrend sein. Aber mittlerweile ist Setting Spray für mich unumgänglich geworden. Könnte mir kein Leben mehr ohne vorstellen. Muss ich zum Glück auch nicht.
Heute zeige ich euch meine zwei allerliebsten Setting Sprays und zusammen sind sie einfach unschlagbar.

You use setting spray after you applied your foundation (and powder and bronzer and blush and everything you want to put on your face) to settle everything down, bring it all together, make your skin looks more smooth and natural, less cakey and it makes your make up last longer. Sounds amazing, doesn't it? And it really does work. You just spray it on and wait for the magic to happen.

I always use the The Body Shop spray first to refresh my face and settle my make up and the NYX one is great for a dewy look. 

Side note: There's a matte version of the NYX setting spray as well, so if you have oily skin I'd recommend that one.
Ihr sprüht das Setting Spray (gibt's dafür eigentlich ein deutsches Wort?) auf, nachdem ihr eure Foundation (und Puder und Bronzer und Rouge und was immer ihr sonst noch gern benutzt) aufgetragen habt um alles zusammenzubringen, damit sich euer Make-Up setzt, um einfach frischer, natürlicher und strahlender auszusehen. Oh, und euer Make-Up sollte länger halten. Sollte. Dazu später mehr.
Ich benutze immer zuerst das Body Shop Spray, um nicht so "gepudert" auszusehen und anschließend ein paar Spritzer des NYX Sprays für ein strahlendes Finish (immer dieses Englisch zwischendurch. Kann auch nicht ohne.).
Übrigens: Das NYX Spray gibt's auch in einer matten Version, für die Mädels unter uns, die eher zu öliger Haut neigen.

 

The The Body Shop Face Mist contains rose water and really hydrates and refreshes your skin. I have really sensitive skin, but it didn't broke me out at all. They say you can use it on all skin types. Well, at least on my weird combination sensitive skin it worked. But maybe you should try it before you buy it (yay, rhyme.) so you won't waste any money if your skin doesn't like it. You'll get it in every store of The Body Shop and online in the official website here.

Das The Body Shop Face Mist enthält Rosenwasser und erfrischt euer Gesicht ganz wunderbar, besonders im Sommer gerne in der Handtasche dabei (für die Erfrischung zwischendurch).
The Body Shop sagt, es ist für jeden Hauttyp geeignet. Nun habe ich nicht jeden Hauttyp und kann das daher mehr schlecht als recht beurteilen, aber bei meiner merkwürdig empfindlichen blöden Mischhaut funktioniert es wirklich toll! Aber vielleicht solltet ihr es erst einmal ausprobieren, bevor ihr es kauft. Besser ist es. Kann man aber, soweit ich weiß, in jedem Body Shop. Sonst einfach mal fragen, "Fragen kostet nichts" hat Opa immer gesagt. Recht hat er.

The NYX Dewy Finish Setting Spray gives your skin (surprise) a dewy finish. You won't look oily though, it just gives a natural pretty glow and makes you look less cakey. I haven't noticed that it extends the lasting time of my foundation though, but maybe it that's just because my skin is a little weird. You should use this before you apply your mascara - it's water based and I smudged my whole eye make up when I used it afterwards. Not so funny. You get it on every NYX counter and online on the NYX website.
Das NYX Dewy Finisch Setting Spray gibt eurem Gesicht das besagte "Dewy Finish". Meint: Euer Gesicht sieht strahlender, frischer, nicht so super matt aus. Allerdings (hier kommt das "Sollte" wieder ins Spiel) habe ich nicht wirklich feststellen können, dass es dafür gesorgt hat, dass mein Make-Up länger hält. Liegt aber vielleicht nur an meiner Haut, kann bei euch ganz anders sein.
Allerdings empfehle ich doch, es vor dem Wimperntuschen aufzusprühen. Es ist wasserbasiert und hat mir schon das ein oder andere Augenmakeup zerstört, wenn ich es doch mal nachher benutzen wollte. Und mit "wollte" meine ich "hab's vorher vergessen". Und mit "zerstört" meine ich "verschmiert und zum Panda mutiert".

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask

Today I want to show you one of my ultimate favorite products lately.

I had a really bad cold a couple of weeks ago and the dry skin on my face got even drier. I felt like a snake which sheds its skin. It was horrible. 

So I went to the store, searching for something that could help me. And I found it. The Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.

Vor einigen Wochen war ich ganz schlimm erkältet. Aber wirklich, ganz ganz schlimm. Und ich bin nicht wehleidig. Meistens. Danach war meine momentan sowieso ziemlich trockene Gesichtshaut noch ausgetrockneter. Ich hab mich gefühlt wie eine Schlange, die sich häutet. Uncool. Ich machte mich also auf zu Douglas, in der Hoffnung dort etwas zu finden, das mir helfen könnte. Und tatsächlich, ich fand etwas. Die Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask.
 

 

Avocado and apricot kernel oil will give your skin the moisture back it lost over the time and japanese seaweed will repair the skin barrier. At least that's what Origins says. So far so good.

At the end of the day, you take your make up off and clean your face as usual. Then you put the mask on and leave it on overnight. When you wake up in the morning, you remove any excess with a face tissue or water and you have the softest skin ever.
And really. It worked wonders on me. Now, I use this one to two times a week and my skin feels so hydrated and healthy, I just want to touch it all the time. Of course I can't, there's the make up. Oops.

I highly recommend that face mask to everyone who's struggling with dry skin, especially during those cold winter months. I'm not easily impressed (am I?) but the Drink Up Intensive really does what it promise.
Avocado- und Aprikosenkernöl sollen den Feuchtigkeitsgehalt der Haut wieder auffrischen und japanische Meeresalgen helfen, die Hautbarriere zu reparieren. Das verspricht zumindest Origins. So weit, so gut. 

Ihr entfernt euer Make-Up und wascht euer Gesicht wie gewohnt und trägt anschließend etwas von der Maske auf. Diese lasst ihr nun über Nacht einziehen.

Am Morgen (oder Mittag, für die Langschläfer unter uns) nehmt ihr die überschüssigen Reste einfach mit einem Kosmetiktuch oder warmen Wasser ab.
Und voilà! Ihr habt die weichste Haut ever and ever.
Wirklich. Sie hat bei mir Wunder bewirkt. Ich benutze sie jetzt ein bis zwei mal die Woche und meine Haut ist super hydratisiert und fühlt sich viel gesünder an, ich möchte sie am liebsten den ganzen Tag lang anfassen. Geht aber nicht. Make-Up sei Dank.

Ich kann diese Maske wirklich wärmstens empfehlen, besonders für Mädels (und Jungs), die wie ich zu dieser Jahreszeit mit trockener Haut zu kämpfen haben. 

Ich bin ja wirklich nicht leicht zu beeindrucken (oder vielleicht doch, man weiß es nicht), aber die Drink Up Intensive hält wirklich was sie verspricht.

MAC "Brave" Lipstick // Review & Swatches

Today's post is all about my new holy grail lipstick "Brave" by MAC.
 

I'm pretty sure you already heard about it and if not, "Brave" is the lipstick, Kylie Jenner (one of the younger Kardashians) normally wears to get her gorgeous and full lips. Yep, no injections needed if you know how to perfectly over-draw your lips. I don't, so I keep going with thin lips for now. But that's okay. Kylie uses this lippie in combination with the liner "Soar" (MAC here as well!). Just for you to know, I didn't get this one. "Brave" was enough. For now. Let's see what the time will bring.
Ich bin sicher, ihr habt es schon gehört, aber falls nicht: "Brave" ist der Lippenstift, den Kylie Jenner (eine der jüngeren Kardashians) mit ihren wunderschönen und vollen Lippen berühmt gemacht hat. Jawoll, man muss sich nichts spritzen lassen, um aus dünnen voluminöse Lippen zu machen, wenn man es beherrscht, sie perfekt überzumalen. Das tue ich nicht. Hab's versucht, sah eher aus, als hätte mich ne Biene gestochen. Nicht so schön. Belasse ich es doch erstmal bei meinen dünneren Lippen, man kann schließlich nicht alles haben. Kylie kombiniert "Brave" mit dem Lipliner "Soar" (ebenfalls von MAC), aber ich dachte, "Brave" ist erstmal genug. Bin nicht so das Lipliner-Mädchen. Aber mal sehen, was die Zeit bringt.
 

So, "Brave" is, at least for me, the perfect dark nude. It has a bit of a pink-ish, neutral undertone and it works great with many skin tones. It's one of those "my lips, but better" lipsticks.

It's great for everyday wear, if you go to school or work or just don't feel like wearing a bright lippie. 

It comes with a satin finish (side note: that's my favorite of the MAC finishes! Yay!) and still applies really smooth! I wore the Prep and Prime base for lips (as well - surprise - from MAC) and it lasted forever! Okay, not forever. I had to touch it up after lunch, what was about six hours after the first application. But still, that's a long time. I know, the satin lippies usually last longer than others but I'm impressed time and time again. 

Für mich ist "Brave" der perfekte dunkle Nudeton. Er hat einen leichten, neutralen Pink-Stich (ganz leicht, super leicht) und passt wunderbar zu den verschiedensten Hauttönen. Er ist einer dieser "My Lips But Better" Lippenstifte. Perfekt für den Alltag, die Schule, Arbeit oder überhaupt immer, wenn man mal keinen knalligen tragen möchte.
Er läuft in der MAC-Reihe der Satin Finishes, matt mit einem ganz leichten Glanz (übrigens mein Lieblings-Finish!). Er lässt sich trotzdem sehr leicht und geschmeidig auftragen, was meiner Erfahrung nach bei den Satin Lippies nicht selbstverständlich ist. Als Base habe ich den Prep and Prime Stift von MAC benutzt, so hat "Brave" bei mir ewig gehalten. Okay, nicht ewig. Nach dem Mittag musste ich ihn etwas auffrischen (gab aber auch Schnitzel), trotzdem hat er gut 6 Stunden perfekt gehalten. Das kennt man zwar von den Satins, bin aber jedes mal wieder begeistert.

 

If you are able to get it (I know it's sold out EVERYWHERE lately - thanks to you, Kylie!) you definitely should. I heard many people compare it to "Twig" (which one I got a couple of weeks ago because "Brave" was sold out again) and "Velvet Teddy", but I think "Brave" is much more wearable and goes with more skin tones. "Twig" and "Velvet Teddy" are both much warmer and more of a brown-toned nude.
Also, wenn ihr ihn kriegen könnt (er ist - danke, Kylie! - momentan fast überall ausverkauft) dann schlagt zu! Viele Leute vergleichen ihn mit "Twig" (den ich mir, zugegeben, auch vor ein paar Wochen kaufen musste, als es "Brave" mal wieder nicht gab) oder "Velvet Teddy", aber ich finde, "Brave" ist wesentlich alltagstauglicher und passt eher zu den verschiedensten Typen als die anderen beiden. "Twig" und "Velvet Teddy" sind beide wärmer und gehen eher ins bräunliche, passen daher (besonders "Velvet Teddy"!) nicht zu jedem - da ist ausprobieren ein Muss!

I'm really happy I finally got my hands on it! And now, I'll end this post and just sit here, admiring the beauty of my new lippie.

Essie "Fiji" // DIY Version

It's DIY-Time, ladies and gentlemen - today I want to share with you some tipps and tricks to create the nailpolish color of your dreams. Oh and "DIY" means "Do It Yourself". Not "Donuts Interest Yale" or something. Abbreviations are confusing.

You all know the struggle of finding the perfect nailpolish color. I had the struggle to find the perfect pastel pink. This one was too warm-toned, that one was too sheer and this little one was pretty, but horrible to apply.

After ages of searching, I finally found it. Essie's "Fiji". It came in a limited edition and had everything I always wanted.

It was super pale, super opaque, super easy to apply, super long lasting. But as I said, it was limited. And sooner than expected, it was gone. I ran out of my beloved "Fiji" and my heart broke a little.
Wer kennt ihn nicht, den Kampf, seinen perfekten Nagellack zu finden. Ich selbst war ewig (eeeewig) auf der Suche nach dem perfekten Pastelpink. Dieser war zu rötlich, dieser zu sheer und der hier war zwar ganz hübsch, aber fürchterlich aufzutragen. Dann aber, nach Monaten und Jahren der Suche, fand ich ihn. Essie's "Fiji". Natürlich limitert, wäre ja sonst auch zu schön gewesen. Ich habe ihn geliebt. Doch leider, leider neigte sich das kleine Fläschen schnell dem Ende zu und als ich vor kurzem fast den Boden erreichte, brach mein Herz ein kleines bisschen.

 

But wait, there was hope. I saw the amazing @zuckerdonut on Instagram mixing her own nail polish and thought: "Alina, you can do that, too!".

I had an almost full bottle of Essie's "Romper Room" (which was limited as well, but will make its way into the standard range now) and took a bottle of "French White Creme" by Wet N Wild.

If you don't know already, "Romper Room" is pretty similar to "Fiji", just a hint darker. So I started to carefully add some drops of "French White Creme" and shook it until the two polishes turned into one. I grabbed my almost empty bottle of "Fiji" so I could really compare it and was really impressed! It was working. I added more and more of the white polish until I could proudly say, I created a similar nail polish to "Fiji"!
Side note: You don't need that exact white nailpolish that I used, every white cream polish, which has a high opacity will work just as good!
Aber Moment, es gab Hoffnung. Ein Licht am Ende des Tunnels. Ein Spatz in der Hand, der besser war, als die Taube auf dem Dach. Ich sah ein Foto von der lieben @zuckerdonut auf Instagram, auf dem sie uns ihren selbstgemixten Nagellack zeigte. Da dachte ich: "Alina, das kannst du auch!".
Ich fand noch ein fast volles Fläschchen von Essie's "Romper Room" (der damals ebenfalls limitiert war, jetzt aber ins Standartsortiment einzieht) und schnappte mir "French White Creme" von Wet N Wild.
Für alle die nicht ganz so nagellackverrückt sind: "Romper Room" ist "Fiji" ziemlich ähnlich, nur etwas dunkler und kräftiger.
Ich fing also an, ein paar Tropfen von "French White Creme" in mein "Romper Room"-Fläschchen zu tropfen und ordentlich zu schütteln. Man sah sofort, dass der Lack deutlich heller wurde. Ich hüpfte also los, mein altes "Fiji"-Fläschchen zu holen, um den direkten Vergleich zu haben.
Noch ein paar Tropfen mehr und es war geschafft - mein eigener DIY-"Fiji". Ich konnte nicht stolzer sein.
Kleine Randnotiz: Ich weiß, dass man hier nicht überall an Wet N Wild Produkte kommt - es tut aber auch jeder andere gut deckende weiße Nagellack. Mir fallen jetzt leider nur "Blanc" von Essie und "Alpine Snow" von OPI ein, die aber beide deutlich höher im Preis liegen...
