Nivea Men After Shave Balm // Face Primer

Today I have a quick little hot buy for you.

Of course, everyone loves a good face primer but they are often super expensive and the drugstore primers just don't work that well most of the time.

But what if you don't want to spend a monthly salary on a primer but still want something that moisturizes your skin and makes your foundation last all day? Will you just sit in a corner and cry of frustration? No. You just have to open your eyes and take something, what doesn't look like a primer at first sight. And maybe not at second sight.

The Nivea Men After Shave Balm.

Whaaaat? Yep. I'm totally serious.

Nikkie (from Nikkietutorials on YouTube) mentioned it in a lot of her recent videos and so I thought I'd give it a try. 

And really. 

It hydrates the skin in an amazing way and makes you foundation last so much longer! And why? Well, take a look at the ingredients. The second mentioned ingredient is glycerine and that's what makes your foundation stick to your skin. 

It's amazing. Trust me. Try it.

It's really cheap and the manly scent disappears after a few minutes.

I highly recommend this one, I don't even use my expensive primers anymore!

Oh and I use the sensitive version because... sensitive is always better. Women skin is sensitive. Yep.

Heute habe ich einen kurzen kleinen Kauftipp für euch. Mal ganz was neues. Keine ellenlangen Romane, nur ein paar Fakten. Denn überzeugen müsst ihr euch selbst. Hab es schließlich selber nicht geglaubt.
Also. Ihr kennt das ja. Wenn wir über Foundation reden, reden wir auch über Primer. Denn Primer ist super. Die Foundation lässt sich leichter auftragen, die Haut wird mit Feuchtigkeit versorgt und die Foundation hält und hält und hält. So sollte es zumindest sein. Leider findet man (bzw. ich) in der Drogerie kaum einen Primer, der wirklich hält was er verspricht. Um die 40€ für einen Primer ausgeben ist aber auch nicht gerade das Gelbe vom Ei. Was also tun? Auf den Boden legen und weinen, weil man kein halbes Monatsgehalt für einen Primer rauswerfen will aber trotzdem nicht nach zwei Stunden wie ein geschmolzenes Vanillieeis aussehen will? Nein. Denn hier kommt die Lösung. Man sucht nicht nach einem Primer. Sondern nach einem beliebigen Produkt, mit den Eigenschaften eines Primers. Und man findet.
Man findet das Nivea Men After Shave Balsam.
Waaas? Jawohl. Meine ich total ernst.
Nikkie (von Nikkietutorials auf YouTube) hat es in ihren letzten Videos in den Himmel gelobt und da dachte ich "Wieso nicht.", probieren geht schließlich über studieren. Und für etwas über 3€ kann man auch einen Fehlkauf riskieren. Aber es war keiner.
Das After Shave Balsam ist wirklich der absolute Megaoberhammer. Es spendet Feuchtigkeit, lässt die Foundation traumhaft auftragen und er verlängert die Haltbarkeit um für immer. Ungefähr. Aber warum das? Werft einen Blick auf die Inhaltsstoffe. Gleich als zweites finden wir dort Glycerin und das sorgt dafür, dass das Produkt wunderbar auf der Haut festgehalten wird, ohne dabei klebrig oder beschwerend zu sein.
Ich konnte auch nicht glauben, dass dieses Produkt wirklich so toll sein soll, wie Nikkie behauptet. Aber wirklich, es hat mittlerweile meine teuersten Primer ersetzt. Die stehen jetzt traurig in der Gegend rum. Tut mir sehr leid, aber sie können einfach nicht mithalten.
Also meine Lieben, probiert es aus. Mehr kann ich nicht sagen. Ihr findet es in jeder Drogerie, zwischen 3€ und 4€ seid ihr dabei und glaubt mir, ihr werdet es lieben.
Ich benutze die Sensitive Variante weil, naja, Sensitive klingt für mich immer besser.
Und keine Sorge, der herbe (um nicht zu sagen supermännliche) Geruch verschwindet nach ein paar Minuten!

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream - Perfect Fit

So today's post is again about a foundation. Well, about a BB cream but as we're talking about super light stuff for your face, this post might be more interesting for ghostly white people like me.

So the thing is, for super pale girls and guys, it's not only a struggle to find a matching foundation. It's, of course, also a struggle to find a fitting BB cream for the days were you don't feel like wearing a full face of make up.

Yep, I made my way to the drugstore. Why so ever. Of course, every BB cream was way too dark.

They always say funny things like "For very fair skin. It will magically match your skin tone.". Um, no. Sorry.

So I took a look at higher end BB creams and: nothing.

Then I watched several YouTube videos and people were talking about Korean BB creams which are supposed to be super light and I thought I'd give it a try.
Of course, there were bunches of different BB creams out there in Korea, but I heard of Etude House before so I decided to try one from that brand.

Heute geht's mal wieder um Foundation für die Blassnäschen unter uns. Genauer gesagt um BB Cream, aber das Problem ist ja quasi dasselbe. Sobald etwas Farbe ins Spiel kommt, wird es für die super Hellhäutigen Leutchen schwierig.
Da ich nicht unbedingt jeden Tag Foundation tragen möchte, war ich auf der Suche nach einer BB Cream, einfach etwas leichtes für jeden Tag.
Meine Suche habe ich erstmal in der Drogerie begonnen. Hätte ich mir sparen können, denn wie auch Foundations sind die dort erhältlichen BB Creams viiiel zu dunkel. Super. Wer gibt mir meine Zeit wieder?
Also habe ich auch einen Blick auf die High End BB Creams geworfen (Benefit, Dior, viele viele...) aber nein, auch da hatte ich kein Glück.
Bin ich also wieder auf's Sofa gewandert. YouTube an. Und los.
Tatsächlich bin ich da auf etwa aufmerksam geworden. Und zwar auf BB Creams aus Korea, wo Blässe als Schönheitsideal gilt (#antisonnenbankflavour) und die Creams dementsprechend wesentlich heller sind als hier.
Natürlich gibt es da auch wieder zig verschiedene, aber von Etude House hatte ich auch vorher schon gehört und entschied mich daher für eine BB Cream dieser Marke.

 

I ordered the Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream - Perfect Fit in the lightest shade (from BeautyNet Korea by the way! click!).

It arrived about two weeks later and that's pretty good I think, it's a long way from Korea to Germany.

The packaging is really nice, you get a high amount of product (60ml/ 2.11oz) and it comes in a plastic tube WITH A PUMP! Excuse my screaming but pumps are everything.

The tube itself looks really nice and elegant and cute at the same time. I like that.

But let's talk about the product because this is what matters. 

The Koreans did a great job with the color. It is really light (comparable to MAC NW10) and more on the cool toned side. I often find foundations and BB creams too yellow, but this one is great. Not too yellow and not too pink. Just somewhere in between. It contains SPF30 what is amazing! You don't even really need sunscreen underneath. But it will flashback in photos, so maybe not the pick for photo shootings with massive flash.

Well, they say it is a BB cream so I imagined a light coverage, more like a tinted moisturizer. It's nothing like that. It is pretty thick and I would say it has a medium buildable coverage.

But the thing is, it still looks really nice and natural on the skin! The finish somewhere in between matte and dewy, I like to powder it a bit in my T zone.

For me, it applies best with a flat top kabuki brush and I use my regular primer underneath.

I've heard a few people saying that it doesn't last on them more than two hours, but it works better for me. It's not that 24 hour super duper long wearing formula, but I'd say it lasts for good six hours. Then I noticed a bit of creasing around my nose but nothing worse, so I'm totally okay with that.

For me, it wasn't really what I expected from a BB cream but I'm still super happy I got my hands on it.

It is super affordable and does a great job.

But if you're more into the super light finish, you would probably be more happy with something else.

Ich habe mir die Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream - Perfect Fit in der hellsten Nuance bestellt (übrigens von BeautyNet Korea! klick!).

Schon knapp zwei Wochen später kam sie bei mir eingetrudelt - ganz schön fix für die Entfernung!
Die Aufmachung der BB Cream gefällt mir äußert gut, es handelt sich zwar um eine Tube, die aber trotzdem einen Pumpspender enthält! Jawohl! Pumpspender forever.
Die Gestaltung ist sehr hübsch, niedlich, mädchenhaft und trotzdem etwas elegant. Gefällt mir ebenfalls super gut.
Man bekommt auch eine ganze Menge an Produkt selbst, ganze 60ml! Zum Vergleich, Foundations kommen in der Regel mit rund 30ml daher.
Aber jetzt zur BB Cream selbst, denn die schönste Verpackung hilft gar nichts, wenn das Produkt dagegen im Schatten verschwindet.
Was die Farbe angeht, haben die Koreaner wirklich tolle Arbeit geleistet! Sie ist wirklich hell (in etwa vergleichbar mit MAC NW10) aber trotzdem eher kühl und neutral gehalten, also weder zu gelblich, noch zu rosig. Perfect Fit eben.
Und sie enthält Lichtschutzfaktor 30 was ich persönlich wirklich klasse finde. Schließlich muss man seine Haut schützen. Sonnenstrahlen, die einem die Haut wegbrutzeln, sind leider nicht so cool wie immer noch einige Leute denken. Allerdings eignet sich die BB Cream daher nicht so gut für Blitzfotografien. Kennt ihr die Fotos von Promis auf roten Teppichen, die fiese weiße Schimmerflecken im Gesicht haben? Ja, daher kommt's. Für Fotos lieber auf SPF verzichten.
Gut, Etude House bezeichnet sie als BB Cream. Naaaaja. Ich verstehe unter einer BB Cream etwas leichtes. Leichte Deckkraft, leichtes Gefühl. Hm. Das ist leider nicht unbedingt der Fall. Sie ist ziemlich dickflüssig und ich würde schon behaupten, wir haben es mit mittlerer, aufbaubarer Deckkraft zu tun.
Aber der Witz ist, sie sieht dennoch sehr natürlich auf der Haut aus! Sie lässt sich wunderbar verblenden und das Finish ist irgendwo zwischen matt und natürlich glänzend einzuordnen. Ein bisschen Puder auf die T-Zone geworfen und fertig.
Ich trage sie am liebsten mit einem Flat Top Kabuki Pinsel auf und verwende meinen normalen Primer (der übrigens ständig wechselt, funktionieren aber alle) darunter.
Ich habe in einigen Reviews gelesen, dass die BB Cream nicht länger als zwei Stunden auf der Haut hält aber da muss ich etwas gegen stimmen. Bei mir hält sie schon gute sechs bis acht Stunden bevor sie sich etwas an den Nasenflügeln absetzt.
Insgesamt war die Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream nicht wirklich ganz das, was ich erwartet hatte, aber sie macht trotzdem einen tollen Job und ist mein täglicher Begleiter geworden.
Falls ihr aber auf der Suche nach etwas super leichtem, mehr in Richtung getönte Tagescreme seid, ist sie wahrscheinlich nicht die beste Wahl. Aber keine Panik, ich suche weiter.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara // Review

Hello everyone!

Today's post is about the new Roller Lash Mascara from Benefit.

I'm sure, most of you already heard about it, so many people are raving about it lately and well, I am too.

When it comes to mascara, the drugstore ones were always enough for me so I wasn't sure if I really need the Roller Lash  in my life.

Benefit says, that the Roller Lash will lift your lashes so you won't need an eyelash curler, separates and lifts your lashes.

Oh and the packaging is, like everything from Benefit, super adorable. 

It reminds of one of those hair curlers women used in the 1950s. Who wouldn't love that? 

But anyways, I wasn't sure if I should get my hands on it.

So I read reviews on other blogs, watched YouTube videos and went to my local Benefit counter to try it.

And after some decision time, I found myself at the counter again, grabbing the Roller Lash. Funny, how that always happens.

Heute dreht sich hier alles um Wimpern.

Genauer gesagt, um die neue Roller Lash Mascara von Benefit.

Die meisten von euch haben bestimmt schon von ihr gehört, seit sie vor kurzem rausgekommen ist, wird sie gehyped wie sonst was! Das ging an mir natürlich auch nicht vorbei und ich dachte mir, die muss ich mir mal genauer anschauen.

Was Mascara angeht, bin ich eigentlich eher der Drogerie-Typ gewesen (was tatsächlich fast nur bei Mascara der Fall war, schade für meinen Geldbeutel), daher war ich erstmal skeptisch, ob diese High End Mascara wirklich den ganzen Wirbel wert ist.

Benefit verspricht, dass die Roller Lash den Wimpernzangeneffekt ohne Wimpernzange erzeugt, die Wimpern trennt und durch den Schwung das Auge optisch geöffnet wird. Klingt erstmal super.

Und natürlich, wir kennen es ja schon von Benefit, die Aufmachung der Mascara allein ist schon Gold wert.

Sie erinnert an die Lockenwickler der 50er Jahre und hat einen wunderschönen Schriftzug, mit sowas kriegt man mich ja.

Trotzdem war ich nicht sicher, ob ich die Mascara wirklich brauche. Ich war ja mit meinen Drogerieprodukten im Großen und Ganzen zufrieden.

Also begann wieder meine "Vor dem Kauf" Routine.

Ich schaute YouTube Videos, las Reviews auf anderen Blogs und probierte sie das ein oder andere mal an meinem Benefit-Counter aus. Also nicht an meinem eigenen. Hab gar keinen. Leider. An dem bei mir in der Stadt, natürlich.

Und wie das Leben so spielt, fand ich mich dann doch vor einigen Tagen mit dem Roller Lash im Körbchen an der Kasse stehen. 

 

 

The brush is a little special. It's a rubber brush (I normally don't really like rubber brushes though, but this one is different) which has shorter bristles on one side and longer, crossed bristles on the other. I'm so good at discribing. Not. But you'll get it if you take a look at the close up photo below.

And with a special design, there comes a special application.

The lovely girl at the counter showed me the technique, called Hook 'n Roll, you have to use to get the most out of your new mascara.

I saw a few videos on YouTube where the girls used it like every other mascara and the results weren't that great. But well, sometimes you should just read the instructions. Even on a mascara. It's worth it.

You find a great "How To" video from benefit on their YouTube channel but I'll quickly explain it to you as well (click!).

Das Bürstchen der Roller Lash ist anders, als bei "normalen" Mascaras. Es besteht aus Gummi (bin ich ja erstmal kein Fan von, allgemein, aber diesmal ist einfach alles anders!) und hat auf der einen Seite kurze und auf der anderen Seite längere, sich kreuzende Borsten.

Auf dem Foto weiter unten sieht man es besser, meine Beschreibungskünste sind nicht die allerbesten.

Und mit einem speziellen Bürstendesign kommt auch eine spezielle Auftragetechnik daher.

Das Gute daran, Produkte am Counter und nicht online zu kaufen ist nunmal, dass die lieben Verkäuferinnen wirklich Ahnung haben. Und sie verraten einem Dinge, die man sonst nicht wüsste.

So hat mir eine ganz liebe Benefit-Mitarbeiterin ganz genau erklärt, wie ich die Roller Lash zu benutzen habe, um wirklich den gewünschten Effekt zu erhalten.

Sie funktioniert nämlich nicht, wie jede andere Mascara.

Gut, es liegt auch eine Anleitung der Mascara bei, aber wie ich mich kenne, wäre die direkt in der Ecke gelandet.

Ich habe im Nachhinein auch festgestellt, dass viele Mädels in ihren YouTube Videos nicht die besondere Technik anwenden, daraufhin gab es eben nicht die super geschwungenen Wimpern.

Also wir merken uns: Wenn eine Anleitung bei liegt, und auch wenn es nur Mascara ist, lesen!

Ihr findet ein tolles Video auf dem offiziellen YouTube Channel von Benefit, da wird alles nochmal ganz genau gezeigt und erklärt (klick!).

You place the mascara brush with the short bristles directly on your lash line and then roll it through your lashes, so you end with the long bristles on your lash tips. That takes a little practice but once you discovered how to do it, it's really easy. 

I recommend to do that a few times, so you really got all those little lashes rolled up and covered with mascara. And I feel like one coat is enough, I mean you don't have to dip the brush into the tube again.

On the lower lashes, just use it as a regular mascara or take a drugstore one if you don't want to waste it for that (I do it that way).

Also, man beginnt damit, das Bürstchen mit den kurzen Borsten zuerst am Wimpernkranz anzusetzen und dann in einer drehenden Bewegung nach oben zu bewegen, sodass man mit den langen Borsten die Spitzen der Wimpern erreicht. Das ganze nennt sich dann Hook 'n Roll. 

Ist am Anfang etwas schwierig, aber wenn man den Dreh erstmal raus hat (hallo, Wortspiel!) ist es eigentlich ganz simpel.

Das ganze wiederhole ich dann gerne ein paar mal, bis ich auch die allerkleinste, unscheinbarste Wimper erwischt habe. 

Aber tatsächlich, es tut überhaupt nicht Not, das Bürstchen noch einmal "aufzutanken" - das Produkt ist sehr ergiebig! Und das sage ich, die sonst fünfundneunzigmal nachgeladen hat.

Meine unteren Wimpern Tusche ich aber nach wie vor noch mit meiner Drogeriemascara. Die Hook 'n Roll Technik klappt nur bei den oberen und zum "normalen" Tuschen, möchte ich die Roller Lash dann doch nicht verschwenden. Aber das ist nur meine Meinung, kann natürlich jeder machen, wie er gerne möchte.

So let's get to my opinion.

The Hook 'n Roll technique really works for me, my lashes are incredibly curled and separated. 

My lashes are naturally pretty long though so I can't really tell if it's that amazing for people with short lashes.

The color, the black, is really intense and beautiful and the design of the brush really makes sure you get even the tiniest lash!

The curl lasts all day. Really. I haven't noticed any difference on my lashes in the evening than I the morning when I applied it.

And it's light weight so you don't feel like your eye lids are doing some workout all the time because your mascara is so super heavy. 

I really really love this mascara and for me, it holds what it promises.

But everyone's lashes are different so I recommend to go trying it out if you can before you buy it, because it's super annoying when you spend the money and are not happy with the result.

But you really should give it a try! Because nothing makes your eyes more outstanding than wonderful lashes.

So, nun aber ab zu meiner Meinung.

Ist die Roller Lash den Hype und auch ihren Preis wert?

Ich, ganz persönlich, finde... JA!

Ich hätte es ja nicht gedacht, aber zumindest bei mir hält sie wirklich, was sie verspricht.

Meine Wimpern sind von Natur aus relativ lang (nur leider blond und unsichtbar), von daher brauche ich keine Mascara, die sie optisch mich großartig verlängert.

Den gewünschten Schwung gibt sie aber und dieser hält wirklich den ganzen Tag! Und es bröckelt nichts ab. Finde ich ja auch super wichtig, es gibt nichts nervigeres als schwarze Krümelchen unter den Augen. Mascarakrümelmonster adé!

Das Produkt selbst und auch die Tatsache, dass man (bzw. ich) nicht viel davon benötigt, schafft auch ein angenehmes Tragegefühl. Die Wimpern sind nicht mehr so schwer und man hält (nach ein paar Tassen Kaffee) auch morgens um 5 schon wunderbar die Augen auf.

Also, die Roller Lash ist eine klare Empfehlung von mir, allerdings solltet ihr, wenn es irgendwie möglich ist, sie vorher einmal ausprobiert haben.

Es ist schon ärgerlich, so viel Geld für eine Mascara auszugeben und zuhause festzustellen, dass sie mit den eigenen Wimpern nicht wirklich harmoniert. 

Wimpern sind da ja doch etwas speziell, manchmal.
Aber einen Versuch ist es auf alle Fälle wert, denn was verschafft einem einen schöneren Augenaufschlag, als wunderbar geschwungene, volle Wimpern?

Negative Space Nails

Hi everyone!

Today I have another negative space nail design for you and this time I was inspired by the amazingly talented Milena from Instagram @nailthatdesign.

Especially in summer, I absolutely love white nails. Well, it's not really summer yet but we can always start with bringing some summer on our nails.

For this design, I used my all time favorite white nail polish from OPI "Alpine Snow" and added some "Fairy Dust" from China Glaze in the negative space.

"Fairy Dust" is a super fine holo glitter and best visible and direct sunlight. I don't take my pictures in direct sunlight so the "Fairy Dust" appears more Dust than Fairy here. But just imagine a super sparkling glitter.

Heute habe ich mal wieder ein Negative Space Design für euch. Diesmal ein klein wenig ausgefallener, aber es soll ja schließlich nicht langweilig werden auf den Nägeln.

Und besonders im Sommer liebe ich weißen Nagellack.

Gut, es ist noch nicht wirklich Sommer, aber man kann ihn ja schon mal vorsichtig einläuten und das geht eben am besten mit weißen Nägeln.

Dieses Design habe ich vor einigen Wochen beider lieben Milena (Instagram @nailthatdesign) gesehen und musste es direkt nachpinseln.

Verwendet habe ich hierfür mein allerliebstes Lieblingsweiß von OPI "Alpine Snow" und "Fairy Dust" von China Glaze.

"Fairy Dust" glitzert ein bisschen in den Cut Outs vor sich hin, er ist etwas kamerascheu. Aber ich verspreche euch, im Sonnenlicht funkelt er wie kein zweiter!

Wenn ihr noch auf der Suche nach einem super feinen Holo-Lack seid - diesen kann ich nur empfehlen!

You can easily achieve this look with the help of some nail vinyl stripes or regular striping tape.

I applied "Fairy Dust" on the naked nail (and with naked I mean naked with base coat) and let it dry completely.

Then I added the nail vinyl stripes as shown below. 

It's easier to completely finish one hand before you start with the other though, because it's not so easy to apply the nail polish when you have tape all over your nails. But that's just a tip.

I applied two coats of "Alpine Snow" and immediately removed the tape with a tweezer. You have to hurry a bit because you'll ruin the whole manicure when the polish dries over the tape.

Let it dry again, so you won't smudge anything and add your top coat.

Tadaaaaa! Super pretty negative space nails!

Ich habe damit begonnen, "Fairy Dust" auf die nackten Nägel (und mit nackt meine ich nackt mit Base Coat) zu lackieren und gut trocknen zu lassen. Und zwar wirklich gut.

Dann nehme man entweder Nail Vinyls in streifenform oder Striping Tape oder auch zurecht geschnittenes Tesafilm (da scheitere ich nur immer kläglich dran) und klebe es, wie auf dem Foto unten, auf die Nägel.

Ich empfehle übrigens wieder erst eine Hand komplett fertig zu machen und sich dann der anderen zu widmen. Es ist alles andere als einfach den Nagellackpinsel zu halten während man Tonnen von Klebestreifen auf den Nägeln kleben hat.

Als die Streifen also so klebten, wie ich mir das vorgestellt hatte, habe ich zwei Schichten "Alpine Snow" lackiert. Danach müssen die Klebestreifen sofort (sofort!!!) entfernt werden, am besten mit einer Pinzette. Wartet man zu lange, trocknet der Lack über den Klebestreifen und das eigentlich so hübsche Design wird zur Katastrophe.

Jetzt wieder schön trocknen lassen um nichts zu verschmieren, Top Coat drüber und tadaaaa! Wunderschöne Negative Space Nails.

Bye Bye, Dark Circles!

Hello lovely people!

Today I want to share my concealer routine with you.

When it comes to concealer, people always say things like "Girl, you don't even need concealer! You're dark circles are just not visible!". Um yep. That's because of the concealer I'm using. Thanks.

The truth is, because my skin is whiter then the White House, my undereye circles are a wonderful dark shade, something between purple and black. And with wonderful I mean horrible. Because dark circles are not pretty.

But for every No, there's a Go in the make up world. And that's where it comes to concealer.

Heute möchte ich meine Concealer-Routine mit euch teilen. 
Wenn es um Concealer geht, kriege ich oft zu hören "Ach Mädchen, das brauchst du doch nicht! Du hast doch gar keine Augenringe!". Ähm, doch. Aber es gibt Concealer. Daher sind sie unsichtbar! Zweck erfüllt.
Die Wahrheit ist, da meine Haut weißer als Weiß ist, sehen meine Augenringe umso schlimmer aus. Es ist so ein hübscher schwarz-lila Farbton. Und mit hübsch meine ich furchtbar.
Aber auf jedes Nein folgt ein Fein in der Make-Up-Welt. Und da kommt der Concealer ins Spiel.

 

I use a combination of two different concealers and together, they work wonders.

One is the super hyped MAC Pro Longwear Concealer and the other one is the NYX HD Concealer.

I use the MAC Pro Longwear in the shade NC15, the lightest available ahade with yellow undertones. You may remember that I don't like yellow undertones for my foundation, but for concealer, it's everything because the yellow reduces the purple.

It lasts really long (well, the name already said that, but it really does) and it has an amazing coverage for being that liquidy!

The NYX Concealer is the lightest shade as well (duh!) and this is C01. 

It gives an extra amount of coverage and is super brightening!

So I conceal in three steps.

First, (okay, first, after I put moisturizer and primer on) I use about half a pump full of the MAC Pro Longwear and that's more than enough for both eyes.

I concentrate in the inner corner of my eye because that's where the most darkness appears.

I use my fingers to work that in, because the warmth of my hands helps to blend it properly. I know, most people use their concealer after they applied foundation, but I find it works best if I put this one on first.

The second step is the foundation or BB cream. When I apply it on my face, I don't keep my eye area out - with a flat top face brush it's an easy thing to add a little more coverage to your dark circles and even out the whole eye area.

At last, I take my NYX concealer and buff it in with a big concealer buffer (currently, I always find different brushes to do that with). It gives the best effect when I apply a tiny little bit on my eye lids as well, so everything looks even.

I like to use a little bit of a super fine powder to prevent all that from creasing.

And that's it! Bye bye, dark circles!

Ich benutze eine Kombi aus zwei verschiedenen Concealern und zusammen wirken sie Wunder.
Einer von ihnen ist der gehypte MAC Pro Longwear Concealer und der andere der NYX HD Concealer.
Ich benutze den MAC Pro Longwear in der Farbe NC15, der hellste Farbton mit gelben Untertönen. Jetzt erinnert ihr euch vielleicht, wie ich gelbliche Foundations hasse. Gut, nicht hasse, aber sie passen eben nicht zu meinem Hautton.
Bei Concealer aber ist es super praktisch, da das Gelb den Lilastich der Augenringe reduziert! Hallo, Komplementärfarbenkontrast.
Der Pro Longwear hat eine tolle Deckkraft und hält (wie der Name schon sagt) wirklich lange.
Den NYX Concealer benutze ich wieder in der hellsten Farbe (Überraschung), dies ist C01.
Er hilft noch etwas mehr, die Augenringe zu reduzieren und hellt die ganze Augenpartie gleichzeitig etwas auf.
Also, ich conceale in drei Schritten.
Ich beginne (nachdem bereits Tagescremen und Primer aufgetragen wurden), den MAC Pro Longwear aufzutragen. dafür nutze ich am liebsten meinen Finger, weil er sich so durch die Körperwärme am schönsten verblenden lässt. Ich weiß, die meisten Leute tragen Concealer erst nach ihrer Foundations auf, aber für mich funktioniert es so am besten.
Ein halber Pumpstoß ist übrigens für beide Augen mehr als ausreichend!
Dann schnappe ich mir meine Foundations oder BB Cream und arbeitendes auch noch etwas über die Augenringe, sodass der Pro Longwear noch mehr mit dem restlichen Make-Up verschmilzt.
Als letzten Schritt nehme ich den NYX Concealer und verblendenden mit einem großen, etwas spitz zulaufenden Pinsel (man nenne mir den Fachbegriff!), das ist übrigens keine Pflicht, mit anderen Pinseln hat es mindestens genau so gut geklappt. Ein kleines bisschen trage ich auch auf meinem Lid auf, damit alles ebenmäßig aussieht.

Optional dann noch ein bisschen mit feinem Puder fixieren, damit alles an Ort und Stelle bleibt und das war's!

The Thing About Giving Credit

Hi everyone!

Today I want to talk about one big thing on every social media, but especially on Instagram: Giving credit.

I want to focus on the nail art community here, but let's start with some general points that count for every photo, post and video.

Heute ist hier leider einmal nicht nur Sonnenschein und Regenbogen.
Hute möchte ich etwas über ein Thema sprechen, dass in der Social Media Welt, besonders aber auf Instagram, allgegenwärtig ist.
Ich beziehe mich dabei hauptsächlich auf die Nail Art Community, ein paar allgemeine Punkte habe ich zu Anfang aber auch mitzuteilen.
 

I'm sure you all know that. You scroll down your Instagram feed and find a wonderful and pretty picture. It's just something you would've photographed yourself. It would look beautiful on your page and your followers would love it. 

So what about reposting it? I mean, that's no big deal. It's just Instagram, right?

Wrong. You are not allowed to simply repost a picture. You are not allowed to state it as your own. It's against the terms and conditions. And it's theft.

When you repost a picture and not identify that it's not yours, it could have severe consequences. 

But don't worry, you can repost a picture when you give proper credit to the user you got it from.

It's not enough to just tag them on the picture, you have to include the credit in the caption.

Example caption: "I just stumbled across this wonderful photo and immediately fell in love! Credit to @usernameexamplecat".

And voilà! Everything's fine. It's not that hard, right?

Side note: It's even better to ask the owner if it's okay if you repost the picture, even if you give credit, some people just don't like seeing their pictures on other people accounts and that has to be accepted.

Heute geht es mal um ein ernsteres Thema, um etwas, dass mich immer wieder beschäftigt.
Ich bin sicher, ihr kennt das auch. Man scrollt durch seine Neuigkeiten und stolpert über ein wunderschönes Bild. Eines, das man genau so auch fotografiert hätte, das sich wunderbar auf seiner Seite machen würde und seinen Abonnenten würde es sich auch sehr gefallen.
Also los, reposten wir es einfach.
Da ist ja nichts bei. Keine große Sache, es ist ja nur Instagram, richtig?
Falsch. Man darf nicht einfach das Bild von jemand anderem nutzen. Man darf es nicht einfach auf seinem Account teilen und es somit als sein eigenes ausweisen. Man darf das Urheberrecht nicht verletzen. Es ist gegen Instagrams AGB's und es ist Diebstahl.
Beachtet man dies nicht, kann das ernsthafte Konsequenzen nach sich ziehen. Dass Instagram den Account löscht ist da noch mit das harmloseste.
Aber jetzt keine Panik!
Natürlich kann man die Bilder anderer reposten, wenn man einige Dinge beachtet.
Es ist unbedingt notwendig, dass auf den ersten Blick erkennbar ist, wessen Bild das geteilte wirklich ist. Dabei reicht es nicht (!), die Person nur auf dem Foto selbst zu markieren. Der Name muss in der Bildunterschrift erscheinen.
Diese könnte dann zum Beispiel so lauten: "Was für ein tolles Bild der lieben @beispielnamekatzekatze!".
Und voila! Alles paletti. Kein Urheberrecht verletzt, alle sind zufrieden und trotzdem konntet ihr das Foto teilen. Ist doch eigentlich super easy.
Einen kleinen Tipp hab ich aber doch noch. Nicht alle User sehen ihre Bilder, ob mit Markierung oder ohne, gern auf dem Profil von jemand anderem. Im Zweifel also lieber kurz fragen, ob es auch in Ordnung ist, das Bild zu nutzen! So ist man auf der sicheren Seite.
 

But let's get to the manicure thing now.

You see photos of the most beautiful nails all over Instagram and they are often reposted by huge accounts to increase the attention to the artist. As long as there's credit, it's totally fine. It's more than fine, it's pretty amazing. It just makes you proud, seeing your art getting that popular.

Because really, it's called nail ART. You have an idea on your mind and instead of painting it on a piece of paper, you paint it on your nails. That's where amazing and unique creations occur.

Sometimes, when I am out of inspiration, I'm stalking my favorite IG accounts and look for their recent manicures. Not only once I recreated one of their designs, the same way or a bit different.

When I'm uploading my picture of it, I also include the original artist in the caption such as "inspired by @usernamecatkittenexample", because well, it was their idea. Not mine. And as I already said above, I don't want to claim the work of another artist as my own.

Because I know the feeling. I know the feeling of coming up with an idea, creating a unique manicure and all of the sudden seeing it on somebody else. Without any credit. Of course, it could be possible that that someone came up with the same idea. Same design, same colors, shortly after I posted mine. But let's be honest, that seems a bit weird.

It's one thing if people just copy one's manicure. But it's another thing, if they're making money out of it, if it's because they are famous YouTubers or selling that design on nail wraps or press-on nails. 

And yep, that happened. Not directly to me though but to one of my friends who is also part of the community.

Let me tell you the story, because it's actually the reason for this post today.

About a year (or even more?) ago, my friend came up with a beautiful manicure I absolutely fell in love with. 

I recreated it a few days later in a slightly different way and of course, mentioned in my caption that I was inspired by her to create this design.

But I wasn't the only one who liked that manicure. 

Over the following weeks and months, we discovered it on many many amazing nail artist who gave credit to my friend (or me, if she didn't know her - I tagged her again in the comments then). Personally I love seeing those recreations because I feel like it's a special honor for your work if others like it that much, so they recreate it.

But almost that often, we saw the design on others who claimed it as their own idea. Maybe it was coincidence (I think not), but we even spotted a very very very similar mani on a pretty famous celebrity.

And then, my friend found out, that a company who sells press-on nails, took that exact design for one of their sets. Of course without asking. They were taking the ideas and designs of many many nail artists without any permission and the thing is, they were making money out of it. Out of someone else's idea and work. And that should be no big deal? Because it's just nails? Because it was just an image somewhere on the Internet? No, that's not funny anymore. We take it seriously. 

I don't want to go much further, but My friend is on her way to handle that situation.

Jetzt aber zu dem Anlass dieses Posts.
In der Nail Art Welt gibt es so unglaublich viele talentierte Mädels (und Jungs), die sich unheimlich große Mühe machen und viel Arbeit in ihre Kunst stecken. Denn genau das ist es. Nail Art, Nagelkunst. Nur malt man eben nicht auf einer Leinwand, sondern auf den Nägeln. Dadurch ist dies aber keinesfalls weniger wert.
Wenn ich durch Instagram wandere, bin ich immer wieder erstaunt, auf was für tolle und einzigartige Ideen einige kommen.
Oft werden diese Fotos auch von sehr großen populären Accounts (natürlich mit ensprechender Markierung) geteilt, um mehr Aufmerksamkeit auf die Künstler zu lenken. Dadurch bin ich schon oft auf einige wundervolle Mädchen aufmerksam geworden.
Mir selber fehlt es dann doch manchmal an Inspiration, also scrolle ich durch meine liebsten Accounts und schaue mir ihre Designs an. Ab und an gefällt mir eins so gut, dass ich mich auch daran versuche. Poste ich aber meine Version, markiere ich natürlich die Person, von der ich die Idee hatte, unter meinem Foto. Schließlich war es ihre Idee. Nicht meine. Und auch wenn es kein Bilderklau in dem Sinne ist, so ist es doch Ideenklau und das ist, zumindest für mich, genau so unschön.
(Ein Beispiel für eine Bildunterschrift wäre hier: "Zu dem Design hat mich die liebe @nagelkatzebeispielname inspiriert!". Oder so ähnlich.)
Leider weiß ich nämlich, wie das ist, seine Idee auf den Nägeln von jemand anders zu sehen.
Es kann natürlich auch immer Zufall sein. Zufällig das gleiche Design, zufällig die gleichen Farben, zufällig kurz nachdem ich meinen Look geteilt habe. Aber seien wir ehrlich, so wirklich glaube ich an solche Zufälle nicht.
Es ist natürlich ärgerlich, wenn einem eine Idee einfach geklaut wird. Wenn es aber dabei bleibt, gut, dann ärgert man sich kurz, aber den Tag lässt man sich von sowas auch nicht vermiesen.
Anders aber ist es, wenn diejenige Ideenklauende Person Profit daraus schlägt.
Hier möchte ich kurz die Geschichte einer Freundin von mir erzählen, denn sie war letztendlich ausschlaggebend für den heutigen Post.
Bitte habt Verständnis, dass ich keine Namen nenne.
Also.
Vor etwas über einem Jahr zauberte meine Freundin, die auch Teil der Nail Art Community auf Instagram ist, ein wunderschönes Design auf ihre Nägel. Ich war total hin und weg (wie üblich) und pinselte es in etwas abgewandelter Form auch auf meine Nägel. Natürlich markierte ich sie unter dem Bild, denn, wie gesagt, es war ihre Idee. Ihre Kunst. Ihre Arbeit.
In den folgenden Wochen und Monaten sahen wir dieses Design auf den Nägeln vieler Mädchen.
Viele von ihnen markierten meine Freundin oder mich (falls sie sie nicht kannten, ich erwähnte sie dann aber doch noch einmal in den Kommentaren) und es war wirklich toll zu sehen, was für Wellen dieses Design schlug und wie viele Mädchen sich mit uns darin verliebt hatten.
Leider gab es auch immer wieder einige, die nicht kenntlich machten, die Idee von jemand anderem zu haben.
Gut, man muss auch sagen, dass die Fotos nun schon weit über Instagram hinaus gingen - so waren sie auch auf Google, We Heart It und Pinterest zu finden. Aber fängt da das Problem nicht bereits an?
Es zog solche Kreise, dass wir es sogar auf den Nägeln einer nicht unbekannten Promidame entdeckten. Ja, auch das kann Zufall sein. Aber bei so einzigartigen Designs, wie diesem, wird man doch leicht skeptisch.
Dem ganzen wurde jedoch die Krone aufgesetzt, als vor einigen Wochen die ganze Nail Art Community mal wieder in heller Aufruhr war. Das kommt zwar immer mal wieder vor, aber diesmal war tatsächlich etwas im Argen.
Eine Firma, die Nägelsets zum aufkleben herstellte und verkaufte, nutze die Designs von verschiedenen bekannten und unbekannten Instagram Nail Artists. Und zwar wirklich in einem Ausmaß, dass es mich wundert, dass sie dachten, damit durchzukommen. Die Muster waren teilweise so einzigartig (und dadurch in der Nagelwelt natürlich bekannt!), dass man sie gleich dem entsprechenden Artist zuordnen konnte.
Auch meine Freundin fand ihr Design hier wieder. Exakt das gleiche Muster, die gleiche Farbauswahl.
Nun ist es, wie gesagt, eine Sache, eine Idee zu klauen. Aber wenn derjenige sie zu Geld macht, da hört der Spaß auf.
Meine Freundin hat sich diesbezüglich Hilfe geholt, das möchte sie nicht auf sich sitzen lassen. Ich habe auch andere der betroffenen Nägelmädchen kontaktiert, es wurde in jedem Fall etwas unternommen. Ich darf leider nicht mehr verraten, nur so viel: Manchmal hilft es, die Krallen auszufahren.

So giving credit is important, always remember that. Nobody walks into the Louvre, copies the Mona Lisa and tries to sell it with their own name on it, right? So why should we?

Also denkt bitte immer dran, Urheberrechte sind ernst zu nehmen.
Ich meine, es dackelt ja auch niemand in den Louvre, malt die Mona Lisa ab und vermarktet sie dann als sein eigenes Werk, oder? Wieso sollten wir das dann tun?

My All Time Favorite Manicure // Recreation

Hi everyone! 

Today's post is about my all time favorite manicure inspired by my dear friend Pauline (Instagram @xoxo_polished).

I first did this mani, according to Instagram, 79 weeks ago (click).

I saw it all over Instagram, We Heart It and Pinterest (with or without credit to the original artist or me) and I fell in love again.

Side note: There will be a separate post about copying nail designs and giving credit soon, today's post is just about this manicure itself.

Der heutige Post steht ganz im Namen meines allerliebsten Nageldesigns, welches ursprünglich eine Idee meines favorite American Girl Pauline (Instagram @xoxo_polished) war.
Zum ersten mal hab ich es mir, laut Instagram, vor 79 Wochen auf die Nägel gepinselt (klick). Das macht rund 20 Monate oder ganz rund 1,5 Jahre. Lang lang ist's her.
Während dieser gar nicht so kurzen Zeit habe ich es immer mal wieder auf Instagram, We Heart It und Pinterest entdeckt. Und zwar nicht nur mein Bild, sondern auch das Design auf den Nägeln anderer Mädels. Leider leider wurde dabei nicht immer dran gedacht, ein Vermerk zu setzen, wessen Bild oder Idee dies ursprünglich war...
Aber jetzt keine Panik, dieser ganze "Bilder und Ideen Anderer nutzen" Bereich wird nochmal seinen Platz in einem seperaten Blogpost bekommen - heute wollen wir uns damit nicht rumärgern.
So oder so, auch für mich war es mal wieder Zeit die Pinsel raus zu kramen und ein bisschen Glitzer auf die Nägel zu werfen.

 

 

So it was time for me to recreate this mani, but in a slightly different way this time.

The polishes I used are Essie "Romper Room" (one of my favorite pinks ever), Orly "Halo" and Morgan Taylor "All White Now".

I almost forgot how much I loved "Halo", it's the perfect mix of gold and silver glitter! And who doesn't love some extra sparkle on the nails.

I draw the stripes for the tribal-ish design on my accent nail with a super thin striper brush as you get them on Ebay or Amazon.

You can also use striping tape if you're not into drawing straight lines free handed, but after some couch-time and Nutella, my hands were super relaxed. Nutella Magic. 

Wenn man also ein Design "recycelt" gibt es, zumindest bei mir, drei Möglichkeiten. Entweder man macht es besser, schlechter oder anders. Ersteres ist schwierig, da ich momentan eher neben dem Nail Art - Zug her laufe als wirklich mitzufahren. Schlechter... Naja, ich bin mal so optimistisch zu glauben, dass ich den Zauber (klingt ja super) nicht ganz verloren hab, also blieb nur: es anders machen. Und das geht, wie alles im Leben, am besten mit Rosa.
Also habe ich mir "Romper Room" von Essie geschnappt, neben Orly "Halo" und Morgan Taylor "All White Now".
Das Tribal-ähnliche Muster habe ich übrigens mit einem ganz dünnen Pinsel gezeichnet, diese gibt es zum Beispiel auf Ebay oder Amazon, aber auch immer mal wieder in der Drogerie von Essence oder P2. Sonst tut es auch der ausrangierte Pinsel eines Flüssigeyeliners.
Im Zweifel geht natürlich auch Stripingtape oder einfach Tesafilm - aber nach Sofa und Nutella waren meine Hände super ruhig, da ging es auch ohne Hilfsmittelchen.

I think it's a nice idea to recreate some of your old manicures from time to time, especially when you have a lack of inspiration (what happens to me pretty often lately).

Ich denke, es ist eine schöne Idee, ältere Designs einfach mal wieder zu probieren - besonders, wenn es einem (wie mir momentan) mal an Ideen mangelt.

Foreo LUNA Mini // Review

Hi loves!

A couple of weeks ago, I received the LUNA Mini from Foreo to test it and share my thoughts about it with you.

Maybe you won't recognize it at first sight, but it's a tool for face cleansing.

The Foreo LUNA comes in four different versions, three different ones for every skin type from normal to super sensitive, and the LUNA Mini, which is made for every skin type.

After a long decision time, I decided to try the LUNA Mini, because I heard so many good things about it and it's more handy than the bigger LUNA's. 

I've been using it for nearly three months now and today I want to share my honest opinion about it with you.

Vor ein paar Wochen erreichte mich ein Päckchen von Foreo mit der LUNA Mini, die mir freundlicherweise zum Testen zur Verfügung gestellt wurde.

Vielleicht sieht man es nicht auf den ersten Blick, aber es handelt sich hierbei um ein Tool zur Gesichtsreinigung. Von der Foreo LUNA gibt es im Großen und Ganzen vier verschiedene Versionen, drei der "großen" LUNA, eine für jeden Hauttyp von normal bis sehr sensibel, und die LUNA Mini, die für jeden Hauttyp geeignet ist.
Nach langem Hin und Her habe ich mich für die LUNA Mini entschieden, da ich über sie schon so viel Gutes gehört hatte und sie, aufgrund der Größe, um einiges handlicher sein soll.
Ich habe die LUNA Mini jetzt knapp drei Monate ausgiebig getestet und heute ist es endlich Zeit, euch meine ehrliche Meinung mitzuteilen.

 

Let's start right at the beginning.

My skin is by far not the best.

When I was younger, I had very blemished skin and even though it has gotten better through out the years, I still had blemishes and black-heads here and there. And here and there.

But that's not all.

I had pretty intense redness on my cheeks and my pores, especially on my nose, were huge! (Regina George, I'm with you.)

I would describe my skin type itself as combinationed to dry. I tend to get super oily in my T-Zone but my cheeks were super dry and even flakey from time to time. And as I'm super pale, it just looked like snowflakes landed on my face. That sounds prettier than it was.

So you can imagine my struggle. 

I just felt insecure to go out without foundation, but greasy and patchy foundation doesn't look pretty either.

My skin also is super duper sensitive, it tend to break out super fast if I use a new face product or eat something wrong.

Fangen wir aber ganz von vorne an.
Meine Haut ist leider wirklich nicht die allerbeste.
In meinen jungen Teenagerjahren hatte ich sehr sehr seeeehr unreine Haut. Dies habe ich zum Glück in den Griff bekommen, aber so ganz erholt hat sie sich nie.
Nach wie vor hatte ich noch einige Unreinheiten hier und da. Und hier und da. Und manchmal waren es nicht nur einige.
Außerdem hatte ich, vor allem auf meinen Wangen, mehr oder weniger stark ausgeprägte Rötungen und meine Poren waren (in Erinnerung an Regina George) gigantisch!
Meinen Hauttyp würde ich als trockene Mischhaut, bezeichnen, das trifft es wohl ehesten.
Sie wird schnell ölig in der T-Zone und meine Wangenpartie und auch meine Stirn sind manchmal so trocken, dass sie etwas flaky werden. Das sieht dann bei meiner super hellen Haut schnell mal aus, als wären Schneeflöckchen auf meinen Wangen gelandet. Das klingt jetzt allerdings hübscher, als es ist.
Man kann sich vorstellen, wie ich manchmal zu kämpfen habe. Gut, Kämpfen ist vielleicht etwas übertrieben.
Aber ich gehe ungern ohne Foundation aus dem Haus, diese wird dann aber super glänzend oder pellt einfach ab. Mumie Alina, sozusagen. Und das ist eben auch nicht die Lösung.
Zu allem Überfluss ist meine Haut auch noch super empfindlich. Sobald ich ein neues Pflegeprodukt ausprobiere, das meiner Haut nicht 100% gefällt oder einfach etwas falsches esse, sehe ich es am nächsten Morgen im Spiegel.

I tried so so many things to become friends with my skin, but nothing really worked.

No matter what I used, it always seemed to just cure one of my 7381993 problems.

For example the Origins Face Mask (read my review here) was amazing for my dry areas, but yep, only for that. And no, I don't want to use twenty million cleansing gels, toners, peelings and creams. Ain't nobody got time for that!

I even once used the Spin For Perfect Skin by Vanityplanet (something like the Clearasonic), but even with the sensitive brush head, it was way to harsh for me.

I almost was at a point, where I thought just to accept my skin never being that pretty.

But wait! There was hope.

Ich habe so viele Dinge ausprobiert, um endlich Freundschaft mit meiner Haut zu schließen, aber wirklich geholfen hat bis jetzt leider nichts.
Egal was ich benutze, es ist meist ein Tropfen auf dem heißen Stein - ein Problem ist beseitigt, alle anderen sind noch da. Juhu.
Zum Beispiel meine geliebte Origins Gesichtsmaske (Review dazu findet ihr hier). Sie ist ein wunderbarer Helfer gegen meine trockenen Stellen, aber das war's dann auch. Gut, viel mehr verspricht sie nicht, aber ich bin auch kein Fan davon, mir 937492 verschiedene Cremes, Masken, Peelings und sonst was ins Gesicht zu werfen. Da hat doch kein Mensch die Zeit für!
Ich habe auch ein paar Monate die Spin For Perfect Skin benutzt (eine Gesichtsbürste ähnlich wie die Clearasonic), aber auch mit dem Aufsatz für sensible Haut war die Reinigung viel zu harsch.
Ich war schon fast an dem Punkt angelangt, es einfach so hinzunehmen.
"Gut," dachte ich "dann gehörst du eben nicht zu den Leuten, die schöne Haut haben. Lieber arm dran als Arm ab.".
Aber Moment! Ein Hoffnungsschimmer...

When I got to try the LUNA Mini, I tried to hold down my expectations because, as I said, I never was really lucky with anything I tried so far.

When I unboxed it, I sat there like five minutes, just looking at it.

It is so unique! It has nothing in common with these face brushes you see everywhere.

It's made out of silicone, well the survace is, so it's super hygienic and easy to clean.

The thing about the face brushes is, that you have to change the brush heads every few weeks and they are so expensive!

You don't need to worry about that with the LUNA. You can really deep clean it and as the silicone is antibacterial, you can use it for ages.

All those little touch points (according to Foreo, they are 1300, but I didn't count them so let's just believe it) should deep clean your face while they're vibrating, just like a brush, but in a more sensitive way. 

Als ich meine LUNA Mini von der Postfiliale abholte, versuchte ich, meine Begeisterung nicht wieder ins unermessliche steigen zu lassen. Ich neige ja doch zur Euphorie, aber ich hatte schon so viele Enttäuschungen erlebt und je höher man fliegt, desto tiefer fällt man. Oder so.
Zurück zum Thema.
Als ich die LUNA Mini auspackte, saß ich geschlagene fünf Minuten nur da und sah sie an.
Tatsächlich sieht sie anders aus, als alles, was ich bisher zum Thema Hautpflege gesehen hatte.
Allein optisch ist sie meilenweit entfernt von jeglichen Gesichtsreinigungswasweißichbürsten.
Dank des antibakteriellen Silikonüberzugs ist sie sehr hygienisch, wasserfest und vor allem super zu reinigen. Hier muss man nicht alle paar Wochen für viel Geld einen neuen Aufsatz kaufen. Das schont doch den Geldbeutel.
Die kleinen Noppen (laut Foreo sind es übrigens 1300, ich hab aber nicht nachgezählt) sollen mit Hilfe der Vibration der LUNA Mini für eine sanfte und porentiefe Reinigung sorgen. Da war ich aber gespannt.

 

So before my first use, I had to load it. 

The Foreo LUNA Mini comes with an USB cable so you can load it on your computer. I find that super amazing because I never have the right batteries at home and when they're empty, I don't know where to put them, have to buy new ones, blabla. It's just annoying.

But yay for technology! After half an hour of loading, my LUNA Mini was ready for its first use.

Vor der ersten Benutzung muss die LUNA Mini komplett aufgeladen werden. Das geht wunderbar mit dem beiliegenden USB-Kabel. Einfach am PC anschließen, eine halbe Stunde warten, fertig. Kein lästiges Batterien wechseln nötig. Außerdem umweltfreundlich, das macht es gleich noch besser.
Nach kurzer Ladezeit (die zum Glück wirklich kurz war, ich wurde doch schon leicht ungeduldig) konnte meine LUNA Mini also ihren ersten Einsatz wagen.
 

After I put my regular cleansing gel all over my face, I wet my LUNA and pressed the button on the lower side, so it started vibrating.

The instructions said, you just need 15 seconds per use on every part of your face (cheeks, chin, nose and forehead).

So I started on my left cheek and to be honest, that feeling was super weird at first. You really feel it vibrating and it felt nothing like the face brush I tried.

While I was counting down the seconds, the LUNA Mini stopped for a moment after 15 seconds. I reckoned this among the little things that make you happy. I don't need to count the seconds, the LUNA is doing that for me! Yay! 

So after one minute and 15 seconds, the face cleaning was done.

Side note: The LUNA automatically stops after three minutes, so you won't damage your skin by over-using it.

Nachdem ich mein Reinigungsgel (ihr könnt übrigens einfach das eurer Wahl nehmen, solange es keine Körnchen o.ä. enthält) auf meinem Gesicht aufgetragen hatte, befeuchtete ich meine LUNA etwas und drücke den Startknopf und sie fing an munter zu vibrieren.
Laut Anleitung soll man nun jede Partie des Gesichts 15 Sekunden reinigen.
Ich fing also mit meiner linken Wange an und begann, von 15 an rückwärts zu zählen. Aber huch, bei 0 angekommen, stoppte die LUNA kurz. Da war ich mal wieder super begeistert. Es sind ja die kleinen Dinge im Leben. Wie eine LUNA, die selber die Sekunden zählt.
Anfangs ist es schon ein komisches Gefühl, man denkt, das ganze Gesicht vibriert leicht mit - aber daran gewöhnt man sich sehr schnell.
Nach etwas über einer Minute war meine Gesichtsreinigung auch schon abgeschlossen.
Randnotiz: Sie stoppt automatisch nach drei Minuten, damit der Haut kein Schaden durch "übergründliche" Reinigung zugefügt wird.
 

After the first use, of course, I didn't noticed any difference. I even was afraid, that it won't do nothing for me at all, because the cleaning felt so gently!

From that day on, I used it every morning and evening. I didn't changed the other steps of my skin care at all, to give the truest review of this tool by itself.

After about one month, I noticed that the pores on my nose and cheeks had gotten way smaller, but I still had those little blemishes I wanted to get rid off.

I talked to a cosmetician and she told me to just stick to it, because the skin needs up to three months to "renew" itself.

So I kept on using it and really, day by day, I saw a difference. Finally. I couldn't believe it.

Nach der ersten Anwendung habe ich noch keinen Unterschied feststellen können. Wäre ja auch zu magic gewesen.
Um ehrlich zu sein war ich schon etwas unsicher, ob es überhaupt etwas bringen würde - die Reinigung war nämlich wirklich sehr sehr sanft!
Von dem Tag an benutze ich die LUNA Mini jeden Tag morgens und abends. Meine weitere Hautpflege habe ich nicht verändert, um wirklich den Effekt dieser Reinigungsmethode feststellen zu können.
Nach rund einem Monat konnte ich feststellen, dass die Poren auf meiner Nase und den Wangen deutlich kleiner geworden und vor allem nicht mehr verstopft waren, die kleinen Unreinheiten waren aber nach wie vor vorhanden.
Ich sprach daher mit einer Kosmetikerin, die mich aber beruhigte und sagte, die Haut bräuche gut drei Monate, um sich zu regenerieren. Ich solle nur am Ball bleiben. Und das tat ich auch. Und tatsächlich, mit jedem Tag konnte ich kleine Veränderungen feststellen.

I've been using the LUNA Mini for almost three months now and I don't want to miss it anymore. 

I don't want to overact, but it really changed my life. My skin-life, to be more specific.

Remember all the problems I mentioned above?

Well, my blemishes and black-heads are gone. GONE! Okay, after having tons of burgers and fries, there can be one tiny little spot at my chin, but it disappeares right away the next day.

My pores are super tiny now, they're almost invisible, I don't even need my pore minimizing primer anymore!

The redness on my cheeks is still there, but with the help of rose hip oil, it's getting better as well.

But let's get to the biggest point. My skin type itself has finally gotten almost normal!

My T-Zone stays unoily (is that even a word?) the whole day and my cheeks feel way more hydrated. 

When I touch my skin, it just feels fine. Not oily, not dry.

No dry patches and flakeyness anymore!

My foundation is happy and so am I.

Ich benutze die LUNA Mini jetzt seit knapp drei Monaten und wirklich, ich möchte sie nicht mehr missen.
Ich will ja nicht übertreiben, aber sie hat schon irgendwie mein Leben verändert. Mein Haut-Leben, genauer gesagt.
Erinnert ihr euch an die Problemchen, die ich oben beschrieben habe?
Tatsächlich, von Pickelchen und Mitessern ist keine Spur mehr! Gut, nach einem Besuch bei meiner liebsten Fastfood-Kette kann doch mal ein winzig kleiner hervor blitzen, am nächsten Tag ist er aber auch wieder verschwunden.
Meine Poren sind winzig, fast unsichtbar, geworden. Ich brauche nicht mal mehr meinen porenverkleinernden Primer vor meiner Foundation aufzutragen!
Aber jetzt zu dem für mich wichtigsten Punkt. Meine Haut ist endlich ins Gleichgewicht gekommen. Meine T-Zone ist den ganzen Tag über unauffällig, ich muss gar nicht mehr nachpudern, und meine Wangen und Stirn sehen gesund und strahlend aus! Bye bye, trockene Stellen!
Wenn ich meine Haut anfasse, fühlt sie sich endlich rundum gesund an.
Nicht ölig, nicht trocken. Das gefällt meiner Foundation und mir.

I would've never ever ever imagine seeing such a difference!

The Foreo LUNA Mini became my holy grail and I recommend it to anyone who suffered with skin problems like I did.

It's so super gently to the skin but still does such an amazing job!

Revlon Colorstay Foundation (Normal/ Dry Skin) 110 Ivory // Review & Swatches

Hi everyone!

On my journey to find the perfect foundation, I stumbled across the Revlon Colorstay foundation.

I am super duper pale and it's such a struggle to find a matching foundation. Everything's either too dark or way too yellow.

No, I don't want my face one million shades darker than the rest of my body nor want I to look like a grown up Lisa Simpson.

But the color isn't everything. I need a good amount of coverage as well and the foundation should last longer than two hours. Maybe even a whole day. Is that too much to ask for? Well, I think not. 

So the Revlon Colorstay foundation comes in two types, one for combination to oily skin and one for normal to dry skin. Even though my skin tends to be a bit more on the combination side, I decided to buy the one for normal to dry skin, just because I read horrible reviews about the other one.

Auf meiner Reise, die perfekte Foundation zu finden, bin ich vor ein paar Wochen über die Revlon Colorstay Foundation gestolpert.
Wenn ihr so blass seid wie ich, kennt ihr das Problem bestimmt. Jede Foundation ist entweder viel zu dunkel oder viel zu gelblich. Hallo, liebe Kosmetikunternehmen, nicht jeder möchte ins Solarium gehen oder sich mit tonnenweise Selbstbräuner einschmieren!
Oft ist auch der hellste Ton einer Foundation (man nehme z.B. die Hello Flawless von Benefit, die ich sooo gern probieren würde) noch zu dunkel und für mich zu gelbstichig.
Denn nein, mein Gesicht soll leider nicht fünf Millionen mal dunkler als der Rest meines Körper sein und überhaupt möchte ich auch nicht wie eine ältere Version von Lisa Simpson aussehen. So sorry.
Aber allein die Farbe ist es leider auch noch nicht, die für die perfekte Foundation stimmen muss.
Außerdem benötige ich eine mittlere bis hohe Deckkraft und (ganz ganz wichtig!) die Foundation muss halten. Und zwar nicht nur zwei Stunden. Am besten den ganzen Tag. Ist das denn zu viel verlangt?
Auf meiner Suche bin ich also, wie schon gesagt, auf die Revlon Colorstay Foundation gestoßen.
Sie kommt in zwei Ausführungen daher, einmal für ölige und Mischhaut und für normale bis trockene Haut. Nun ja. Meine Haut findet sich eher auf der Mischseite wieder, allerdings habe ich über diese Foundation ausschließlich schlechte Reviews gelesen, also habe ich die für Normal/ Dry Skin bestellt.

 

I got the Revlon Colorstay foundation in their lightest shade, 110 Ivory.
The first Thing I noticed: no pump. Awesome. But well, there are things worse than that and you get used to the pouring method.

110 Ivory is a cool toned super light color and a nearly perfect match for me.

It has a medium to full coverage and is definitely buildable, but gets a bit hard to blend when you apply more. It covers up most of my imperfections, but if there are tricky Little spots on my face, I need to take a bit of concealer afterwards to make them disappear.
I like to apply the Colorstay foundation with a flat top face brush, I use the Zoeva 104. I tried it with a stippling brush as well, because I liked the natural look it gave me with the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, but it didn't really worked with the Colorstay. It didn't gave me the coverage I want, but maybe it's good for a "No Make-Up" look.

Let's talk about the finish. On me, it dries super matte. One thing I don't really like, it just Looks a bit unnatural. But with a brightening primer and some dewy finish setting spray, you're good to go.
And of course, if you're into matte foundations - here you go! 

On the bottle you see that sticker which says, it'll last for 24 hours. Well, I've never worn it for 24 hours straight. I need to sleep. Without foundation on my face. But it lasts super well on me, when I apply it at 6 in the morning, it still looks pretty nice when I take it off at night! Yay. I've never experienced that with a foundation. I always had to touch up or apply powder underneath, but that's not necessary here.

Ich habe mich (Überraschung!) für die hellste Nuance 110 Ivory entschieden.
Zuerst viel natürlich auf: kein Pumpspender. Na toll. Aber gut, es gibt schlimmeres.
110 Ivory ist ein sehr hübscher kühler Ton und wirklich sehr hell. Verglichen mit der MAC Studio Fix in NW10 ist die Colorstay Foundation etwas rosiger, kühler und noch einen Hauch heller.
Ich würde beinahe behaupten, es ist der perfekte Ton für mich. Endlich.
Die Foundation hat eine mittlere bis hohe Deckkraft, wobei ich sie eher noch im mittleren Bereich einordnen würde. Man kann sie noch etwas schichten, muss dann aber doch etwas aufpassen, weil sie sich dann nicht mehr so super verblenden lässt. Kleiner Minuspunkt an dieser Stelle.
Ich trage die Colorstay am liebsten mit meinem Zoeva Buffer 104 (für alle, denen das nichts sagt: Das ist einer dieser Pinsel mit dem abgeflachten Kopf) auf. Ich habe es auch mit einem Stippling Pinsel versucht, das hat aber leider nicht das erwünschte Ergebnis gebracht. Von der Deckkraft ist dadurch viel verloren gegangen, aber dadurch eignet es sich vielleicht ganz gut für einen "No Make-Up" Look. Mal ausprobieren.
Kommen wir aber zum Finish. An mir wirkt die Colorstay Foundation super matt. Mag ich dann doch nicht so gern, sieht ziemlich unecht aus. Aber Primer und Setting Spray sind ja zur Not immer zur Stelle und verhelfen auch hier zu einem natürlicheren Aussehen.
Falls ihr aber Fans von matten Foundations seid, ist dieses natürlich spitze!
Man sieht auf dem Fläschchen einen Sticker, der einem verspricht, die Foundation solle 24 Stunden halten. Naja. Normalerweise trage ich meine Foundation nicht 24 Stunden. Muss ja auch mal schlafen. Ohne Foundation. Aber trotzdem, wenn ich sie morgens gegen 6 Uhr aufgetragen hab, sah sie abends immer noch ziemlich super aus. Da war ich doch ziemlich beeindruckt. Sonst muss ich nach ein paar Stunden immer mal auffrischen, oder Puder unter der Foundation auftragen, um die Haltbarkeit zu verlängern. Aber nicht hier.

 

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this foundation, mostly because the color suits me best out of all of my foundations.

You can vary the finish and it lasts super long. Oh and of course, the price. I got it from Amazon for about 11€, I guess that's my cheapest foundation ever. 

But there's one thing I have to mention: The smell.

It's horrible. It has such a super strong weird smell, I can't even describe it. 

You get used to it and it disappears a few minutes after you applied it, but still. If you're sensitive when it comes to perfumed things, don't take that one. You'll regret it.

Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dieser Foundation. Hauptsächlich, da es endlich mal ein passender Farbton für mich ist.
Das Finish lässt sich etwas variieren und sie hält super lange. Oh und nicht zu vergessen, der Preis. Ich habe sie bei Amazon für etwa 11€ bestellt (richtiges Schnäppchen), den Link findet ihr hier. Gut, jetzt sehe ich gerade, dass sie momentan bei 14€ liegt. Geht auch noch, aber vielleicht fahren sie ja mit dem Preis nochmal etwas runter. Wäre ja auch ganz nett. Sparen ist immer gut.
Aber leider leider gibt es doch noch einen Punkt, der nicht hinten rüber fallen darf. Der Geruch. Er ist, mild ausgedrückt, furchtbar. Irgendwie merkwürdig parfümiert, künstlich und vor allem sehr stark. Gut, man gewöhnt sich an alles und er verfliegt auch nach einiger Zeit, aber wenn ihr da empfindlich seid - Finger weg!

Cinderella Inspired Manicure

Hi everyone!

I haven't seen the new Cinderella movie yet but I've been a fan of the original Disney movie since I was little.

It's such a wonderful fairytale and I guess, I'll never be able to reduce my excitement for it. 

So when MAC brought out a Cinderella Collection, I got super exited at first but then... well, there was nothing I really needed. And as I am a grown up woman (haha.) I said to myself "No, don't buy it just because of the packaging.". 

Do I have to mention that I regret that? But that's how it goes with limited collections. Once they're gone, they never come back. Little heartbreak here, but I try to move on.

And what is the number one medicine to get happy again? Right. Nail polish. So it was time for a little Cinderella inspired manicure.

Den neuen Cinderella Film habe ich leider noch nicht gesehen, aber ich liebe den alten Disney Film seit ich klein bin.
Es ist so ein wunderschönes Märchen und ich glaube, ich werde niemals in der Lage sein, meine Begeisterung dafür herunter zu schrauben.
Als MAC ankündigte, eine Cinderella LE herauszubringen, war ich super gespannt. Allerdings hat mich dann doch keines der Produkte wirklich angesprochen und weil ich ja schon groß und vernünftig bin (haha.) habe ich gedacht "Nein, es wird jetzt nichts nur wegen der Verpackung gekauft.". Tja. Ich muss, glaub ich, nicht erwähnen, wie sehr ich das bereue. Aber so ist das eben mit LEs. Entweder man schlägt zu oder man muss sein Smartphone für die nächsten Wochen wegsperren, um bloß nicht die 9384789 Instagram-Posts mit den wunderwunderwunderschönen Lippenstiften und Pudern zu sehen.
Aber das Leben geht weiter und was könnte besser über eine verpasste LE hinweg helfen, als Nagellack?
Also war es Zeit für ein super easy Cinderella Design.

 

I wanted something princess-like, what's still wearable.

So I decided to just take some pastel pink, gold glitter and baby blue and put it on my nails.

I used my DIY version of Essie's "Fiji" (you'll find a How To here), Morgan Taylor "Glitter & Gold" ad China Glaze "New Birth" from the Giver collection.
Simple Look, but great for all of us little and big princesses out here.

Mir schwebte etwas prinzessinenhaftes vor, was aber trotzdem nicht zuuuu auffällig für den Alltag ist.
Also dachte ich, einfach ein bisschen Rosa, Gold und Babyblau auf die Nägel und fertig.
Das Rosa ist meine DIY Version von Essie's "Fiji" (ein How To findet ihr hier), Morgan Taylor "Glitter & Gold" und China Glaze "New Birth" aus der Giver Collection. Ebenfalls limitiert, welch Ironie...
Simpler Look, aber prima geeignet für kleine und große Prinzessinnen. Und das sind wir ja irgendwie alle.

For now, I'll sit down on my couch and search the Internet, if I may get any piece of the MAC collection somewhere. Please. Cross your fingers.

Ich werde mich dann mal ran setzen und das Internet durchforsten, ob ich doch noch irgendwo das ein oder andere Teil der MAC Cinderella LE ergattern kann. Wünscht mir Glück.
